White-light LED lamps have longer life expectancy and higher efficiency (more light for the same electricity) than most other lighting when used at the proper temperature. LED sources are compact, which gives flexibility in designing lighting fixtures and good control over the distribution of light with small reflectors or lenses. Because of the small size of LEDs, control of the spatial distribution of illumination is extremely flexible, and the light output and spatial distribution of an LED array can be controlled with no efficiency loss.
Why Eartheasy no longer sells CFL bulbs:
We have discontinued sales of CFL bulbs because we are concerned about the inconsistent quality standards among overseas manufacturers of CFL bulbs, and the use of mercury in these bulbs.
The rapid development of LED bulb technology is bringing newer LED bulbs to the marketplace which are safer, longer lasting and more energy efficient than today's CFL bulbs. The price of LED bulbs has recently gone down to a more affordable level, and now delivers the best cost-savings over the life of the bulb when compared to CFLs or any other light bulb available today.
If you can't see spending what it costs for an LED replacement now, at least switch to a CFL to reduce your costs for one bulb life of about 5 years and then re-evaluate the situation then. It will reduce the amount of mercury that is released into the environment and reduce power demands.
When to turn off your lights - The operating life of a bulb is affected by how many times the light is switched on and off. Here are some guidelines to help you get the peak benefit from your light bulbs.

I am a huge supporter of superbrightleds. They stand by their products, and replace them if they arrive non operational almost no questions asked.
This bulb is $20 a piece. It does what it says here on the product description. I love how they give dimensions, specifications, and everything. I needed a T10 bulb, and I wanted LED and I wanted it 6 months ago, so I bought 4 of these.
They worked and still work great. However I will not be buying them again.
Ok, I'm going to drop a hint here...
The GE LED Light Stik fits a T10 application, and it puts out 100 more lumens than this bulb, it is a 10 watt bulb instead of the above 8 watt though.
This is the kicker. A 3 Pack of GE LED Light sticks is $10 dollars. Sorry superbright, but this particular bulb will not be re-orderd by me.
